Engaging Farm Education: Why a Visit to Our Farm is Essential for Your Students
We offer two primary tours but they are customizable!
Children's connection to nature is diminishing in today’s fast-paced, technology-driven world. However, research highlights the transformative power of early education, especially through immersive field trips. Farm education plays a unique and invaluable role in fostering responsibility, empathy, physical activity, and healthy eating habits, offering young minds a hands-on learning experience that can last a lifetime.
OUR TOURS ARE DESIGNED FOR GROUPS. THEY ARE $100.00 FOR 10 PEOPLE. $10.00 PP FOR EVERY ADDITIONAL, 5 AND UNDER ARE FREE. WE OFFER TOUR ADD-ONS AND GROUP OPTIONS. THE TOURS LAST FOR A LITTLE OVER A HOUR. More information below.
Couples and friends are welcome to take private tours with us but note that they are $100 minimum and we are open to the public from Thursday to Saturday 10 am to 4 pm, you are welcome to a self-guided tour and purchase of plants.
‘Farm Operation Tour’
It is one hour long and included in this tour we take a walk around the main gravel areas, a trip through the demonstration gardens upfront, the worm operation, and the greenhouses while describing the qualities and benefits of the plants we carry, and a demonstration of how they are grown. We might also feed the fish together! We slip into some history about some of our natives and the medicinal value they are historically known for. We usually collect an herb while on our journey and make a hot tea to share toward the end. It is a beautiful experience for all involved.
‘Wild Walk Tour’
It is a one-hour journey delving into native edible and medicinal plants. We will discover their historical uses in a captivating discussion and a more ‘wild scene’. We stroll through ‘Bamboolevarde’ (a cut path in the woods Tim created and named) or maybe a different path he has set for your journey. Learn to identify different native plants that hold tremendous value that you may not be aware of. Learn how to identify them and medical qualities that are dated back in history. It is interactive and filled with adventure!
