AKA Acerola Cherry. The most cold-hardy cherry grown in NE Florida, this 6-10 foot shrub/small tree bears fruit through the warm season, often in 3-5 fruiting cycles. The fruit is ~1/2”, bright red, has a sweet-tart flavor & is rich in Vitamin C (50-100x more Vit C than oranges!) Fruit arrives on new growth, so it responds well to heavy pruning, making it a great hedge or standalone plant.
