Korean Natural Farming (KNF) / JADAM 2-Day Workshop [Oct 25th-26th, 2025]

$200.00

Would you like to free yourself up from the costly and damaging world of conventional farming inputs? Are you interested learning simple DIY techniques to effectively and economically restore soil health and fertility for pennies on the dollar?

Please join us on October 25th-26th for a 2-day immersion into the empowering natural farming concepts of JADAM, Korean Natural Farming (KNF), and more!

Founded in Korea by Youngsang Cho in 1991, JADAM stands for ''People who love nature". Youngsang Cho learned natural farming through his father Han-kyu Cho or "Master Cho" who founded Korean Natural Farming (KNF) in the mid 60's. Through decades of practice and research, this father and son team have created a revolutionary, ultra low-cost organic system of agriculture based on Asian traditional farming methods.

Together we will connect with the land and explore the core components and DIY techniques of JADAM, KNF and more through this fun, hands-on workshop. We will learn how to craft the fundamental inputs of these traditional farming systems from the resources around your farm and local area to naturally enhance soil fertility, crop production, land health and vigor, and effectively mitigate pest and disease pressure. Introduction to Bokashi included! Hope to see you soon!

When: October 25th-26th (9am-5pm)

Potluck/Lunch included!

Where: "Eat Your Yard Jax" Farm, Jacksonville, FL

Teacher Bio
My name is Gerrit Van Houweling. I grew up in the High Desert of Central Oregon on a small 10-acre farm where learning to connect with nature and wildlife was a big part of my everyday life and my favorite past time. After High School I began splitting my time between community college where I studied plant Dendrology, and local food farms specializing in crop optimization and soil health. From there my deep appreciation for Organic and Holistic farming approaches continued to grow and at the age of 19 I started my first micro-farm growing various medicinal herbs.

Through the complex hurdles of farming in such a difficult bioregion, I had to learn much about resourceful and natural farming techniques involving building healthy soils from scratch, water wise farming, composting, and soil microbiology. These challenges inspired me into furthering my education and knowledge base and eventually led me to learning and integrating many natural farming methods to the land including the Fukuoka method, JADAM, KNF, AACT, and Bokashi. After attending 2 workshop courses in Southern Oregon in 2018, I became a certified educator for both JADAM and KNF and have led workshops around Oregon and Puerto Rico. In 2024, I finally had the privilege to attend my first PDC through the wonderful people at the Caribbean Agroforestry Institute and never turned back.

I am now owner and operator of High Desert Soil Alchemy, a local soil focused company where we offer an array of services, educational content and products tailored to improving soils, mother earth, and human beings. I currently still live in the high desert of Central Oregon where my family and I steward two 5-acre regenerative farms and example sites. On the Farm we practice permaculture design and many regenerative, biodynamic techniques and hope to introduce more people to ecological farming approaches and re-greening the desert! I love talking soils and cherish the opportunity to spread this knowledge with more of the world!
