Ecologies of Color is a workshop series led by Elsie Lopez of Gold Water Alchemy. In this series we explore the history, usage, application, and tradition of Indigo as used for color, art, dye, and medicine. During this installation of the series, there will be a discussion and demo on the basics of building an Indigo vat. Participants will also create art on cloth using Indigo resist dyeing techniques.
Each person will leave with their own Indigo dyed pieces.
Most materials are provided. Light refreshments are also provided.
NOTE: this is a 2-day workshop and it is highly recommended that you attend both days.

Please bring your own small-sized cotton, silk, or wool cloth, bandanna, or scarf. Limit ONE piece of cloth per person.
Also bring a bag to take your dyed fibers home in.
